Rose of Sharon Ministries was established in 2003, during the height of the unrest in Ferguson, MO. We focus on spiritual and emotional development, as a complement to strategies like workforce development, educational opportunities and job training. We help people, especially young adults, find their life purpose and identify their spiritual gifts, talents and abilities, as they develop their leadership skills.
Our primary goal is to engage individuals, ensure them that they have purpose, and then empower them to live out that purpose. Our curriculum allows them to examine who they are, why they are and what they were created to accomplish. Specifically, our structured programming helps participants:
1. Identify and use their spiritual gifts and talents
2. Examine leadership principles so that they can make intelligent and productive everyday decisions
3. Develop as peer mentors/teachers/social change agents who understand their responsibility to their communities and to their peers
4. And finally, apply coping mechanisms that build emotional stamina and spiritual fortitude so that they can hang in there for the long haul
While we work mostly with young adults ages 18-29, we recently began an effort to develop mentoring and entrepreneurial programs that allow you, young adults and older adults to work together in environments that sustain and encourage inter-generational collaboration.
