Introducing Gandhi’s Be Magazine “Artist For Peace” Dr. Amelia Kemp, a psychotherapist/singer/song-writer and President of UR2.Global continues to uplift the self-esteem of humanity utilizing the arts. She understands that how a person feels about their body-temple can greatly affect their sense of self-esteem, especially when their body-temple has been violated. Dr. Amelia co-created her most recent music video “Leave Me Be” with Global Woman Peace Foundation to transcend Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting throughout the world in the countries it is practiced in from Africa to the United States. This project was tremendously heartfelt for all participants, and, from a clinical standpoint Dr. Amelia states that “as a holistic psychotherapist the video is meant to be psycho-educational and psycho-spiritual as it proclaims: Leave Me Be! And the song itself is meant to be instructive, affirming and liberating”

The song was written as part of a psycho-educational/psycho-spiritual music video to heal and transcend FGM/C – female genital mutilation/cutting, all over the world where it is practiced. 50% of the proceeds of the song are donated to Global Woman Peace Foundation and 50% to UR2.Global Arts Project to uplift the self-esteem of humanity.

Lyrics

Ah ah ah, Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah, Ah ah ah

Peace be still, so we can heal.
Peace be still, so we can heal.

My body is pure
DNA assured
All that you see
is meant to be
filled with the utmost divinity

Ah ah ah, Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah, Ah ah ah

Leave me be
Trust my integrity
My body is my property
God’s in me, set me free
I came forth to dwell in thee.

Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah

Peace be still, so we can heal.
Peace be still, so we can heal.

The body has been misunderstood
A holy vessel meant for good
Used to sense the world I see
filled with pleasure and majesty
Already intact as was meant to be

Leave me be! God’s in me!
Please don’t touch my sexuality
its fused with my spirituality
My true value is inside of me
So can’t you tell this is hurting me

Ah ah ah,
Ah ah ah

I wasn’t born to please a man
I came forth with my own divine plan
Leave me be! God’s in me!
Release these memes that don’t honor me

Ah ah ah,
Ah ah ah
Peace be still, so we can heal.
Peace be still, so we can heal.

Please don’t tamper with my dignity
Show me your heart and your humanity
Leave me be! HELP ME F L E E!
I speak for daughters from eternity!

Leave me be! SET ME F R E E!
I speak for daughters from eternity!
I speak for daughters from eternity!
Ah ah ah, ah ah ah.
